The 3-day Plan to Use After Vacation or Before a Big Event
Are you looking for the best cleanse diet to change your body in a short amount of time? As a weight loss expert, I am often asked about the best cleanse, the best detox diet or the best quick weight loss program. There are three good detox diets that I like, but in general, I avoid making specific diet recommendations. Why? Because every dieter is different and quick fix plans often rebound. There is, however, one 3-day cleanse diet that I use often.
The Best Cleanse Diet After Vacation
After I come home from work travel or a fun vacation, I often feel bloated, heavy and out of sync. Sound familiar? When I’m on the road, I often eat more junk food than I should and I may even skip a few workouts. If you’re like me, you do the same thing.
While I could simply return to my regular healthy eating habits and wait for my body to slowly respond, I usually want a faster fix. So I’ve created my own 3-day cleanse diet. It helps me to feel better and I usually lose the extra vacation pounds too.
You can use this program to get ready for a special event or after a period of unhealthy overeating. Keep in mind, however, that it is not meant for quick, drastic weight loss. Instead, the program follows good eating guidelines established by the USDA.
Can a Cleanse Diet Help Me Detox?
Some people will do a detox diet cleanse to release harmful toxins from their bodies.
The bad news is that no diet can really “detox” your body. The good news, however, is that you already have systems in place to take care of that function. Experts will tell you that your body’s tissues and organs are always removing harmful toxins. So there is no need to go on a special diet to cleanse your body.
But a diet can feel like it provides a detoxifying effect. After I complete my 3-day cleanse diet, my body looks and feels different. And my eating habits are “detoxed” as well. During my 3-day plan, I change the way I taste food so I no longer crave the salty, crunchy high-fat foods that I got used to on vacation.
So do I lose weight on the 3-day diet? I usually slim down a bit so that my clothes are no longer tight and uncomfortable. And since I crave only natural sugars from fresh fruit, unsalted fresh veggies, and healthy meals, the pounds stay off for good.
My Best Cleanse Diet: The 3-Day Plan
My diet cleanse is super simple. It requires no special or hard-to-find foods. But it does require you to get organized, plan and cook a few meals. Smart dieters can prepare meals in advance so there is no temptation to eat incorrectly.
- Step one: I stop eating all unhealthy carbohydrates. I avoid refined grains and starchy, processed foods. Instead, my meals include only lean protein and fresh, raw or steamed veggies. At some meals, I may include a single serving of whole grains (like a 1/4 cup of brown rice) or a small serving of a skim dairy product.
- Step two: I put away the salt shaker and avoid adding sauces or condiments to my food. I sprinkle fresh herbs on food if I need extra flavor.
- Step three: I eat only whole fresh fruit when I’m craving something sweet. This step can be the most difficult.
- Step four: I drink water. I avoid coffee, alcohol and other flavored drinks that contain natural or artificial sweeteners. If I feel like I need to add flavor to my water I add fresh fruit (berries, kiwi, orange slices) or cucumber.
The bottom line is that during my 3-day cleanse I only eat foods that are natural, unprocessed and full of nutrition. Of course, in a perfect world, this is how I would eat all the time. But that’s not realistic. I can, however, do it for three days.
At the end of my cleanse diet program, my salt threshold, my sugar threshold, and my starch threshold are reset so that I actually want to eat good food again.
And when I fill my refrigerator with healthier foods, my body stays lean and I continue to feel strong and fit.
