Reason Why You Should Never Keep Your Eggs In The Refrigerator – Something You Need To Know
Most people in the world will choose eggs during breakfast. Eggs are really easy to prepare Also, they are nutritious and healthy. That’s why, people are buying lots of them then stored either in the refrigerator or just in room temperature.
But now, there’s an argument that’s been discussed in some forums about the need for eggs to be refrigerated of not.
If you live in North America, Scandanavia, Australia or Japan, you’re commonly keeping eggs in the refrigerator while other countries do not and just place eggs in room temperature out of the refrigerator.
But, there’s a risk of having the bacteria called salmonella on those eggs that are not being kept in refrigerators.
“In vitro insertion of salmonella into eggs is additional successful with non – cold eggs than with cold eggs”, this is according to the Journal of Food Protection publication.
But, National Public Radio claims that eggs should not be refrigerated. This is because of the various protections against salmonella in the United States like inspections, washing, and tracking the eggs from the supplier to the store. In Europe, most chickens are being vaccinated with anti-salmonella. That means that there’s nothing to worry at all.
In the FDA guidelines, “Vaccines can be a very effective component of a [Salmonella enteritidis] prevention program”.
According to Marianne Gravely, technical information specialist at the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, “Eggs shouldn’t be left at room temperature for more than two hours”.
“There is no way to know if a shell egg is pathogen-free. Food poisoning bacteria don’t affect the taste, smell, or appearance of a food. You can’t tell if a chicken is infected with salmonella, so any egg, whether it came from a grocery store, a farmers market, or from your neighbor’s backyard hens, could contain salmonella,” she added.
The end point will still be on the side of the consumers. Being aware on how to handle food can really be the best prevention to health issues.
