Homemade Strawberry Jam

If you can not resist the temptation to satisfy your sweet tooth, here is a recipe for totally homemade jam that will not only bring health benefits, but it will also set you free from weight gain worries.

This homemade strawberry jam is pectin free, gluten free and low in calories. In addition it is rich in dietary fiber, so no need to worry about gaining weight.You can use it as you like- as a spread on whole grain bread, as one of the ingredients in low-carb cookies or as a part of mouth- watering pancakes.

It is easily prepared and it is of supreme quality.

Adding walnuts to the jam will give an excellent taste.  If you don’t have walnuts at hand, you can substitute with almonds or hazelnuts. Chia seeds can also be substituted with ground flax seeds, but keep in mind that whatever change you make the taste will slightly vary.

Prepare this jam and enjoy its amazing taste!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups strawberries
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  •  ½ cup crushed nuts
  • 2-3 tbsp. maple syrup
  • vanilla extract 

Instructions:

Method 1

Combine everything and blend for a minute. Store in fridge and use whenever you like. The jam can stay for several days and it will keep its fresh taste.

Method 2 

If you want you can prepare it in another way, namely, mash the strawberries, put them in a pot and bring them to a low boil, but stir frequently. After a while add the remaining ingredients and cook until the jam thickens. Wait until it cools and store in a glass jar and keep it in the fridge for 2 weeks.
