7 Simple Steps that Helped this Woman Lose 225 Pounds at Age 63!
4 years ago, a 63 years old retired woman Diane Naylor, moved from Fresno to Oakhurst in California and she was excited about the new activities that her new location offered her, such as excellent climate, biking trails on Yosemite and hiking paths.
But there was one problem and that is that she weighed over 400 pounds and she did not wanted to go out. She says that she felt depressed and miserable because of her excess weight. She tried numerous times to lose excess weight but she mostly quit when her diet plan ended. But that was over when an episode of “Castle”, the TV show motivated her to give it another try.
The wake-up call was when the lead actress said that everyone should follow their dreams and when she pointed to the corpses she said that everyone experience dreams but their period ran out, and that is why no one should allow that to occur to them. This state was like a lamp off as she had many dreams to perform. The same day, she started a weight loss process and never looked back since. She is recounting her method and offering advice for everyone in similar position:
She warns that no one should wait, because nobody gets any younger. The younger a person is the simpler it is. She has begun at the age of 59, and that is proving that everyone can do it. There is no reason why to wait, but start right now.
*Make small lifestyle improvements*
At first, she began walking along the driveway and the mailbox was first a challenge on her behalf and even she felt unbalanced, she trapped with it. Now, she lost twenty pounds because of the fresh diet program and the walking and continued to ride an indoor bike and take longer walks around the area. Right now she performs twenty to thirty mile cycle-rides and hikes four mile trails along with her niece. She does not stop moving until she hits ten thousand steps in one day. It is all about starting small and upgrading the movements as you feel stronger.
*Look for a support network*
She joined in the club, named the “Taking off Pounds Sensibly team” or the TOPS after the lost 50 pounds. This club gave her constant assist and accountability. She attends to their meetings each Monday and when she started she received letters, email messages and calls of encouragement from other members.
She says that these meetings helped her in keeping herself in balance during the weekends when she would be most probably to cheat. She also recommends starting with such a group if you don’t have an access to an identical one. Look for people with similar mind that will assist and understand you.
*Try eating something new*
She says that she learned how to eat seafood, by picking up an air fryer that helped her to make it without the grease and it tasted the way it should have.
*Do not embark on a “diet’’*
Before she found her team TOPS, she had tried everything in order to lose weight from Jenny Craig to Pounds Watchers and constantly gained the weight back.
But this time she approached her lifestyle with some changes for a longer and wholesome life. She started eating more vegetables and less junk food.
*Stick with it*
You may have some weight loss problems on the way and it is inevitable but in the moment that you stick it out, you’ll continue to lose weight.
She recommends that you shouldn’t stress about the scale because for her there had been 6 or 8 weeks without movement on the scale but during that time you will see the inches melting down of your body.
*Have it 1 meal at a time*
She explained that the ice cream, snacks and candy are always temptation for her and that remaining healthy is an everyday continuous decision. She suggests seeking for one meal at a time.
She affirms that she is 63 going on 45 and that she is feeling amazing. She is more open to outdoor activities in her community and she is engaging in public speaking and presenting to TOPS.
Her motto is that if someone can accomplish it, that you can do it, as well. Start simply and small begin and do not keep putting it off until Monday.
